Thank you to everyone who has come help nurture the forest so far! This past Monday, we kicked off our first forest, "Garden of Words," as our submission to the thatgamecompany x COREBLAZER game jam. Yesterday, we concluded that forest and the new one, "Forest of Dreams," has sprung to life!

We were so mind blown that more than 100 people has come grow the Garden of Words. It completely surpassed our expectations. In fact, when we were first scoping out the forest sizes and the community board missions, we specifically targeted around 15 daily players, and only expected the forest to grow a time or two.  And boy were we wrong! 

Starting at 24 by 24 tiles, the forest filled up in about 3 hours on its first day, and we started getting messages from other jammers that there were no tiles available to act on. Over the next week, us devs were jittery every day, waiting for the forest day to advance in the server so more tiles are made available for newcomers to experience (and also hoping nothing goes wrong). 

The forest ended up at 48 by 48 tiles, quadrupling in size. This would not be possible without the 3000+ acts of kindness from all the wanderers! Garden of Words is now available under the Explore Past Forests section of our game. Its our version of a digital memento for everyone's hard work this past week <3

We also want to share some funny moments we observed this past week. In the form of screenshots. Some of you who joined the forest mid-way might've opened the forest to see this.

Yes we know XD. There was a community effort to grow two big trees smack in the front of the forest. And they grew so big it blocked the character and the community board at startup. We found it so funny that the forest becomes relatively empty behind those trees, because, well, no one could see. But what can I say? Y'all are culprits!

Ok but on a more serious note, adding camera rotation or x-ray vision through trees is on the books for our post-jam iteration. It was so heartwarming to see some plants being taken care of by so many people!
